Iron Golem farm

Want to farm iron from gentle giants? We won't make a judgement. There are many ways to go about it however, this is the way we do it.

You will need to create the killing pit using lava and water streams. You will need to build your Minecraft village on top of the pit to prevent it from being destroyed. You can set up your village with just floating beds, a few cauldrons and a few blocks to stop them from falling over or fleeing. A threat such as a zombie nearby is also essential. So, put one in a composter or cauldron and put it somewhere the villager can be able to see. There must be at least one villager to panic however, you also require your villagers to be in a position to sleep and work which is why positioning them isn't easy. This is simpler if you play in 1.16 as your villagers aren't required to be working.

Above your strange, suspended village you need a large roof or cover to prevent lighting from turning your villager's into witches. You also need to ensure that your Iron Golem can't spawn in the village, but instead spawn beneath it, close to the pit of death. This is done by making sure that your surfaces do not meet the requirements for the Iron Golem's spawning: buttons on top, hollow blocks or blocks that have nothing beneath them are all acceptable.

This will result in the Iron Golem spawning on the ground. It will then move towards the suspended zombie, become trapped in the lava pit, and eventually die. You can place the hopper, some chests and it will devour all resources.
