Minecraft Java Edition Will Soon Require A Microsoft Account

Minecraft Java Edition has always functioned pretty much the same way since developer Mojang's acquisition by Microsoft. minecraft pixelspark servers Bedrock Edition was created to integrate with Microsoft's account system but Java has been operating on its own Mojang account island until now. Java Edition will soon require players to have an Microsoft account in order to play. However, you'll still receive a free cape.



In the early 2021s, you will be required to transfer your Java or Mojang account over to the Microsoft account system. Mojang claims that this is to introduce two-factor authentication to enhance security. However it will also permit better parental controls, chat block, invitation blocking, and account integration with Minecraft and Minecraft Dungeons.



Mojang has no plans to alter Minecraft mods or PvP. Java and Bedrock will remain entirely separate games. You'll continue to be able to play using your current Java username, though in the event that you're creating an account with a Microsoft account for the first time, you may have to swap account names. If you already have a Microsoft account then you'll be able to merge your Minecraft login immediately.



Mojang has announced a cape, which was once the most sought-after Java Edition item: to facilitate the transition. You'll get a cape for free to take part in the migration, and while it's not adorned with the exclusive patterns of the Minecon mantles, it will finally give everyone an opportunity to feel royal for a moment.
