Social Activism is a broad term that encompasses a lot of different types of social activism. It can be activism based on social justice, social welfare, community organizing, social entrepreneurship and social change. The goal of any social activism is to bring about meaningful social change and improve the lives of people who live in a particular society. Activism takes many forms, but all have one thing in common. That is that they are attempts to create social change through an effort to bring about change in an arena where change is needed most. No matter how different the ways in which people try to socialize or how different methods of social activism are, it all has to somehow get the people involved and make them feel their lives are being changed for the better.

The most effective forms of social change usually occur when the activists are able to overcome their own self-defeating behaviors and attitudes and are able to see the possibility of social change. This is not always easy. Self-defeating behaviors and attitudes are usually the product of the circumstances in which a person finds themselves. For example, if a young woman is married and has a family, there is a high risk of having children out of wedlock. Therefore, overcoming the self-defeating behaviors such as having children out of wedlock may be difficult.

However, overcoming these behaviors and attitudes requires that people be willing to look at their individual behaviors and perspectives. There are two basic types of social change. These are group and individual. Group social change is a collective action that is directed toward changing social conditions in a specific place or context. Individual social change is a personal effort to change oneself.

The most successful forms of social change happen when people take a collective action to effect change in a given area or in a group of people. This is not always possible though. When a local group of people tried to raise money for a church rebuild, some members of the group were not interested in the concept of social change and raising money was not the top priority for them. Others joined in because they had a close connection to the church and wanted to do something for the community. This type of social change would have been more effective if the group leaders had encouraged more involvement from all of the members.

Sometimes social change is better effected by individuals doing their own thing. An activists success rate for achieving change depends on the amount of time that they are able to devote themselves to the task. Sometimes an activist's success story can be as simple as spreading awareness of a particular cause or improving a facility. Other times an activists success may be linked to the financial means by which they were able to pursue their cause. This can be a key to their long-term success.

Activists also have different reasons for participating in political activity. Sometimes this type of social engagement is to promote a particular viewpoint. At other times, people are looking for ways to improve a social condition. Whatever the motive, activists must be willing to put in the time and effort that is required to make a difference in the world.

If you join an activist organization, you will meet people who have similar causes and concerns as you. If you work on your own to change social conditions then you can learn a lot from the experiences and opinions of others. going farther may find that all around the country there are different battles going on to improve conditions for certain groups of people.

Being part of social change is sometimes difficult for some people. It is important to understand that the world we live in now has not been created by ourselves, but by Nature. By working together with other activists we can work towards reaching our common cause and seeing that our vision becomes a reality.
