Regular readers of the location know that the higher administration is being shifted round right here at Massively, that means that Brianna Royce will now be in cost. Whereas we'll at all times miss Shawn Schuster's unmistakable voice and work on the site, the change will seemingly appear invisible to most readers.

I, for one, want to welcome our new overlord, for whom I don't have anything but respect and admiration. By full coincidence, this week's header image happens to be of her favorite animal. Also, I may have despatched various reward baskets of fruit to her house. And I'm sure we will all agree that earlier situations of tomfoolery should not be taken into account when she now considers that she has full power over me.

Shifting on from the welcoming of overlords, it's time for this week's installment of WRUP, that includes the Massively employees explaining our plans for the weekend as well as whether or not or not a graphical upgrade would convey us again to our first MMOs. Check out our plans previous the break, and let us know what you'll be up to within the comments!

@Beau_Hindman: I'll be settling down on a new deed in Wurm Online, persevering with to grind my teeth as I look forward to my new Computer to get right here, and putting my exploration money where my mouth is by lastly downloading IMVU. It is a social MMO that looks very... completely different. I'm additionally nonetheless gathering my listing of pre-World of Warcraft MMOs for protection. Luckily I still have most of my previous accounts!

If I updated any graphics for a few of my favorite video games, that will imply a downgrade for many of them. I need graphics which are extra stylized, particularly like these in Free Realms or Clone Wars Adventures. I'd like to see a "severe" sport done with a more stylized aptitude. Wurm Online can keep how it is, however I really want to see some new avatars. I do know they're coming, but boy, I can not wait!

@nyphur: This weekend I will be entertaining a visiting Swedish pal from my outdated World of Warcraft guild, working exhausting on Predestination, and attempting to persuade my housemates to play extra Guild Wars 2!

My first MMO was RuneScape, and its graphical updates have really brought me back a number of times. I began back when it was a blocky world with 2-D goblin sprites, and the primary huge 3-D update hooked me back in for a number of months. I've returned periodically to see what the sport is like, and the graphics are definitely the first thing I search for. EVE On-line has the same impact, with giant graphical updates pulling individuals back in to attempt the game once more.

@nbrianna: I will be dividing my game time between Guild Wars 2 and Metropolis of Heroes. Double XP is on completely in CoH, I hear, so it's the proper time to roll up a new character in time for the Positron's Ally event next week.

My first MMO was Ultima Online, and graphical upgrades did carry me again many times. That game has had more improved shoppers than any MMO I know... but these upgraded purchasers normally get abandoned by the crew before they're completed as a result of a lot of the veterans simply refuse to modify. Very irritating!

@Eliot_Lefebvre: Metropolis of Heroes, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and the ever-standard Providing Assist to a Liked One with a Chilly. Sooner or later I will truly play Guild Wars 2 for greater than 10 minutes at a stretch. If I am fortunate, it is going to be before the end of the decade.

I am really the fallacious individual to ask about returning to a sport for a graphical improve because graphics have by no means been what's turned me off from a sport. I didn't initially go away Remaining Fantasy XI because of the graphics; I left because the game wasn't actually enjoyable to play. If I see signs that the game I did not like X amount of time in the past has gotten better, I am going to come operating right back, but placing a brand new coat of paint on a game I wasn't having fun with does not lure me back.

@elixabethclaire: The key World continues to be on pause for me as I dedicate my time to Guild Wars 2. I'd wish to hit eighty by the middle of the upcoming week, so I will be doing loads of PvE and WvW this weekend. I did not mean to, but I've got a complete agenda plotted out for my short-term "main" after she hits 80, not to mention a little roster of who's in want of leveling after her.

Not a lot gaming for me this weekend. Maybe some The key World.

I go back and play all of my previous MMOs anyway no matter updates, though I'm very much wanting ahead to Anarchy Online's eventual reskin.

@Sypster: My MMO to do list is a mile extensive at this point. I really need to put a cap on Quantity III Ebook 6 in Lord of the Rings On-line, take a look at the new Autumn Festival in RIFT, get by Egypt in The secret World, and make the large bucks in Guild Wars 2.

As for graphical upgrades, well, if Anarchy On-line ever gets that newfangled redux off the bottom, then you can wager I'll be first in line. It'd be great to see what a barely more updated AO would seem like.

@JayeRnH: This weekend I'm busy with a household trip, however in any spare time I have, I will log into RIFT and hang out next to Atrophinius in the Autumn occasion simply to listen to his hilarious voice-overs. Other than that, I will probably pop into Minecraft with the youngsters so we can work on our tree house.

My first MMO was EverQuest, and I might be more prone to return if the sport truly reverted again to the old graphics of avatars and revamped zones.

@mvmatt: This weekend is my roommate's birthday, so we've got some mutual buddies coming to stay for the weekend. As a result, my gaming time might be going to be occupied extra by break up-display screen mayhem than MMO funtimes. But if the opportunity arises, I will be splitting my time between The secret World and Guild Wars 2.

And would I go back to EverQuest or Ultima On-line if both one received a graphical replace? That is an excellent query. I need to say yes, however I do not know if I might be telling the reality. I cherished UO and EQ again within the day, but I feel it would take a bit greater than a graphical improve to make me a player once more. For each charmingly dated feature that I fondly remember, there is a plethora of actually archaic design selections that I do not think I might be in a position to place up with.

@MJ_Guthrie: Oh my gosh! I get to game this weekend!! *almost faints with excitement* How a lot can I cram in? Let's see, the vote will not be in for Select my Journey, so The secret World will be on hold till Monday. (By the best way, go vote!). To fill my weekend, I am going to dive into GW2 more (I really need to check out an Asura), start plotting more for my EverQuest II community procuring district in addition to take in a number of dungeons, and spread my wings in Aion to complete up some quests and perhaps even get a few rounds of PvP Arenas in. I additionally plan on consuming pizza. Mmm.

I might go back if they'd flip the blasted servers again on! (RIP Star Wars Galaxies.)

@mackeypb: I have been playing more Touhou Hisoutensoku (not that any of you recognize what that is), as well as League of Legends. I'm at present carrying as Graves, although I am pretty positive these reading my column already know that. It feels good to play more airdash fighters, although; I feel like a little bit of a void has been filled in my gamer coronary heart.

In order for me to return to EQ, it will take a greater recreation, not a graphical update. Actually, graphical updates imply almost nothing to me. If the identical EQ graphics as in 2000 have been on prime of the GW2 engine, I would still be down for playing it. i'm bonnie and you are -high quality graphics are a bonus, not a necessity.

@terilynns: I will be leaping into Star Trek On-line this weekend to play a few Foundry missions to discuss on my UGC podcast. I'll also be in Lord of the Rings On-line as I find it very stress-free to farm and craft in that recreation. If time permits, I will likely be again in Glitch as effectively. And sure, the rumors are true: Some persons are twisting my arm to give Guild Wars 2 a strive. I might decide it up this weekend.

I am actually glad this week's query does not apply to me. My first MMO is still my favorite, and it's an exquisite sport -- Star Trek On-line!

At the start of every weekend, we meet up with the Massively workers members and ask them, "What are you taking part in this week?" (In any other case often called: WRUP!) Be part of us to see what we're as much as in and out of recreation -- and catch us in the comments to tell us what you are enjoying, too!
