Xbox has been discussing the possibility of bringing Game Pass Ultimate library to smart TVs for at least one year. It's coming in 2022. The Xbox app will be available on this year's Samsung smart TVs as well as monitors and smart TVs. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can play games from the cloud without additional hardware, unless they have the Bluetooth-connected gamingpad. Even a PlayStation controller can be able to do the trick.

Around 2022 Samsung smart TV models will have game-streaming capabilities, such as Google Stadia and NVIDIA's GeForce Now. In January, Samsung launched a new Gaming Hub on its TVs that put cloud services at the forefront. The Xbox app will soon join them. Xbox is a major player in cloud gaming with over 25 million Game Pass subscribers. However there are a few who are at the Ultimate Tier which unlocks streaming capabilities.

The Game Pass Ultimate library offers hundreds of games that can be streamed, and Xbox has made it a point to ensure that its major first-party titles are accessible on the service from the first day. The Xbox app for Samsung devices will support Bluetooth headsets, gamepads and the DualShock 4 and DualSense PlayStations.

There's no update at present on the dedicated streaming device that Xbox announced it was working on last year in conjunction with the smart TV app.

In the coming months, Xbox has even more plans for Game Pass. Later this year, the company is planning to add the ability for Ultimate subscribers to stream select games that they purchase outside of the Game Pass library. It's unclear exactly how this will work as it could be applicable to games that have left the Game Pass catalog but remain within the Xbox ecosystem, however it could include games from third-party distributors.

A spokesperson for Xbox confirmed that the company will offer the option for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members to play certain games via the cloud. We'll have more to share on the specific games that will be available through Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) over the next year."

Xbox is bringing cloud gaming to two countries, Argentina and New Zealand, on June 9th. This includes access to the Xbox streaming library and Fortnite. Xbox has partnered with Epic Games to bring Fortnite to Xbox Cloud Gaming in May and you can play there for free without having to sign up for a subscription. At the time, Xbox said it was interested in adding other free-to play games to its cloud-based network.

Xbox will be testing a system that allows multiple profiles to play simultaneously under one Game Pass subscription over the next year. It will be tested in Colombia, Ireland, and Xbox executives see it as to be a "potential enhancement" to Game Pass.

Finally, Game Pass will soon include demos of games. In the next year, Xbox will start rolling out small, curated bits of games coming out in Game Pass, allowing subscribers to try these games for free and offer feedback to developers. The program will concentrate on independent games initially, and Xbox announced that developers will be compensated for taking part, meaning all the work that goes into creating the demo will be covered. The demo program is called Project Moorcroft. There's no word on when there will be a Minecraft Project Moorcroft demo will ever be released however it's fun to say that no matter.

The new PlayStation Plus subscription service will provide free, time-limited demos of all games. It will compete directly with Game Pass. The new PS Plus goes live on June 13th. Its most expensive level, Premium, gives access to more than 700 games in the PS Now library, plus cloud play for a few games from the past PlayStation times. Sony's subscription plans don't support native streaming on mobile devices, like Xbox's does. It also won't include any new games from the first party at launch.

After reports surfaced that Sony was making it mandatory for certain game developers to create and release two-hour demos with no plans to reward them for their work, Sony received negative press. Just another wordpress site Xbox made it clear that it would pay developers to create demos.
